From Colourist Paul Harrison : “This is a story about death and grief, but it’s told in a way that somehow still feels up lifting. From the beginning, Nathaniel Martello-White (our Director), Adam Barnet (DOP), and I all agreed that we needed to hold onto the humour that runs through the show. Even though there’s real sadness at its core, there’s also this warmth and humanity, and we wanted the grade to reflect that balance. Adam shot mostly with natural light and really pushed what the Alexa 35 could do. The idea with the grade was never to force a ‘look’ onto it—we just wanted to lean into the photography and bring out the beauty that was already there. It was all about embracing the colours, the textures of the spaces, and giving the show a sense of richness and glow that felt honest and emotionally true.”
