NINE BODIES IN A MEXICAN MORGUE
From Colourist Paul Harrison
“Bodies in a Mexican Morgue is a slick, twisted, cinematic whodunnit series directed by Brian O'Malley and Viviane Andereggen and written by Anthony Horowitz. With BAFTA winner jamestmather as DOP, the series as shot on anamorphic lenses to emphasise a bold, cinematic style. During grading on Baselight, we worked to achieve a cohesive look across all episodes, while also giving each location its own unique feel. The lenses softened the detail of the Alexa sensor, creating a film-like texture.
There were challenges — from handling different lighting setups and grading several scenes for day-to-night transitions, to ensuring the grade always served the story. But with the freedom to incorporate many film references, it was a hugely enjoyable project.”
From Lead Finishing Artist Owen Hulme:
We scaled up our VFX offering in online to deliver over 800 shots including set extensions, wounds, and clean up across the series.
