From Colourist Paul Harrison :“The team was looking for a different approach this season because the story presented some unique challenges. Directors Sebastian Thiel and Abdou Cisse, along with Director of Photography Shaun Harley Lee, wanted to create a beautiful, rich visual style for the show. At the same time, they aimed for Kwabana’s (the main character’s) dream sequences to feel truly cinematic—like scenes from a film. Since the show is a story within a story, we also needed to develop a distinct ‘in-camera’ look.

Shaun’s exquisite lighting allowed us to shape the mood of each scene precisely, using subtle vignettes in Baselight. We applied various grain and glow effects to give the dream sequences a genuine 35mm film feel. With Dreaming’s diverse cast, I was committed to authentically representing every cast member across all scenarios. Together with Adjani (showrunner and creator), Shaun, Sebastian, and Abdou, we made sure that vision was realised.”
